A Really Good Film

I did one of my famous ‘pass out on the couch after dinner’ moves last night.  It was no surprise as there was a new moon on Monday (full moons usually always wake me up around 3-4 am) that I had managed to evade for a few days (aka nights).

So I found myself awake at six minutes after midnight, wide awake.  I went to bed but no luck-really wide awake.

Back to the couch to peruse Netflix new releases and this is what I found-Equity. Wowzers!  Totally appropriate for middle of the night dim grey tone viewing!  Great cast, acting and a great plot.  It examines the differences between male and female (where are the women? #watw) #wallstreet financial wizards and one of our secret fav things-insider trading!!

And, Outlander is on #netflix now!!  Yippee!  Just in time for spring and the nice weather!!

And so I finally sat in bed all day

Yesterday (NYE), I finally woke up sick and, after not napping for 8 days in a row, I decided to stay in bed all day.  Unfortunately, not napping for my entire week off caused me to miss a new year’s eve fire pit at the corrals…ugh and bummer.  (In case you missed it, I consider napping on a day off the paramount luxury)

Yes, it was wonderful-sitting in bed all day long.  I almost finished the brilliant Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, I made dinner but, after resting all day and colouring in my holiday pressie, I was more than ready to pan fry some Italian sausage and garlic roast some (kinda) local and organic Manitoba potatoes.

I woke up feeling much better this morning though I did sleep thru the fireworks display of #nye2016. Oops…

And then, I found this little gem about nye and everything made sense.

Happiest of new years to all of you!! #nye2016

best. day. ever.

Normally, you might expect me to say it was my wedding day, etc…some traditional milestone that really is very nice.  But, today, I woke up with my 4 year old, warm and nestled into my side and it just got better.

Bacon & raspberries for breaky-no time for eggs.  Eggs tomorrow, on the weekend.

Shower, no rushing for a change.

Made a cute lil lunch for the big boy (9 year old) & had bread, no guessing, no wondering, no nothing!  It was on the counter.

Off to the Gondola with the Daycare, my kid & my hubby, who was also off today.  Nice short field trip with wonderful people.  Done by 11:30 am!  Wahoo!  Still some morning time to myself/ourselves!

Picked up lunch to go at an amazing Japanese place in town-Chaya.

Ate lunch at home, while netflixing, on the couch.

Napped.  Napped.  Napped.

Picked up kids from various daycares and after school establishments & then went for dinner!

Went home & put said children to bed.  Not the best part of the day but who cares?

Put some cute beads in my etsy cart.

It’s the little things.  The wedding was awesome, 11 years ago, but this was the now.  The present.  The wonderful.
