Word Creation

Who do u call when you’ve inadvertently created a word? Okay, it’s slang but it’s still a new word. The other morning, my husband pissed me off while we were standing in the kitchen. I was making coffee, so was not completely coherent yet, and started to call him a ‘tard’ (first heard this word from my brother) & it turned into ‘tardigan’. So maybe i was subconsciously political-correcting the former? who knows but it sounded & felt great.

How would i define ‘tardigan’? A retard wearing a cardigan? Someone from the Backyardigans? My husband first thing in the morning before coffee?
